I take my little one
to the local high school's
yearly craft show
to kick off our holiday season.
we were lucky enough
to have my mom and niece
I love craft shows!
They give you so many creative ideas
and unique gifts to purchase for people.
This particular show is gigantic
and filled with talented people!
To top it off,
the church next door has a craft show
at the same time
and, in addition to the amazing crafts,
they also serve some of the
best cabbage rolls in town.
We enjoyed our lunch there,
bought several gifts
and I purchased the last of the
most amazing pumpkin pie fudge
I have ever tasted!
Little one had some and
said it tasted just like pudding!
We left my mother
at the church for service
while the little ones and I
ran to the grocery store
to get the supplies
to make acorns.
Let me tell you something about
the wonderful acorns I posted last Saturday.
Nutter Butters are expensive!
gave me a heart attack in the middle of the store,
So I got Ritz Bitz with peanut butter.
As they were much smaller,
they were more difficult to work with.
Add in the four and five year old helping me
and our acorns ended up looking like...
On a plus side,
they were insanely yummy
and we discovered a new treat
to add in our annual cookie boxes.
I'll share that with you some other time.
We picked up my mother,
headed out for some dinner,
and then took the girls to paint pottery.
If you live in the Akron area
and have never been to All Fired Up,
I recommend you go.
Not only do they have the
best set up for small children
(by best set up I mean paper on all the tables,
very heavy jars of water,
thousands of brushes
and a sign that even says to
let small children be artistic
however they want to be artistic,
even if that means they end up
with a rainbow hippo),
but their price includes everything!
We painted plates
last year for Christmas
at another store
and ended up paying significantly more
because we had to pay for every little thing
there was only so many times
I could walk my then three year old
around the outlets
waiting for a coat to dry
so we could put on another one.
All Fired up does all the top glazing for you!
They also have other options
including glass and clay projects.
But the kids had a
blast with the pottery!
The best part was,
when the kids were done
and cleaning up,
the people there were playing with them.
It is such a kid friendly environment!
They definitely have a customer for life in me!
That was our holiday season kick off!
